Learn the basics of photography in four unique, in-person workshops at one of the besttttttt Lacey coffee shops. Network with other creatives while enjoying local coffee & photography mentorship (from me, yours truly!!) in an intimate group setting.

Week One: Basics of Camera Settings & Gear
We’ll dive deep into the dreaded manual settings & why it’s so important to master them! Whether you’re shooting with a beginner’s camera or more advanced equipment, you’ll walk away from this feeling so much more comfortable & confident in your photography skills.

Week Two: Posing vs. Prompting
One of the most important parts of being a photographer is helping your clients feel comfortable in front of your lens. This week we’ll cover the difference between posing and prompting! We’ll talk about the value of each and why you should have a mixture of both in your sessions.
You’ll get the chance to practice shooting with a model too!
Week Three: Editing & Lightroom
Adobe Lightroom is the industry standard for editing your photos so it’s something you definitely have to master! We’ll talk about how to set up a sustainable workflow, tips on editing, & how to expedite the often monotonous task of editing large galleries.

Hi, I’m Shailee Berry! I grew up in the world of photography and the only thing I like more than documenting first looks & vows is teaching other photographers to do the same! I’ve found that the quickest way to grow and flourish in your business is to invest in yourself early on in your photography business journey. I want to be that person for you—to tutor you and walk alongside you in this exciting time so you can learn from my mistakes.
I’ve been doing photography education and mentorship for a few years but recently noticed a demand for photography classes in Olympia WA where I live… and so The Photography Cafe & Workshop was born!

Why are spots so limited?
I want everyone to feel comfortable asking questions! Also, I’m a big believer that a more intimate group setting helps us foster an amazing learning environment!

Who will be teaching each workshop?
Me (Shailee) will be leading the workshops… but I have a few guest speakers up my sleeve to be announced later!! It’s important to me that you learn from several different perspectives & experiences.
